Arriving to the Galapagos Islands might take some time to do the documents you require such as the TCT or the ABG (Agency of Biosecurity) Goods Declaration.
Thankfully technology is here to speed up the process, and nowadays you can do this online.
- TCT
First of all, the most important document is the TCT which takes a bit of time.
You have to pay for this at the airport at the CGREG counter.
For this document you require this information:
- Date of entrance to Galapagos
- Date of leaving the Galapagos (it is mandatory to have a flight out of the Galapagos Islands)
- Name of your hostel, hotel, lodging
- Passport number and personal information

For our hostel the official name for TCT is just «Galapagos» as Hostal Galapagos by Bar de Beto is just commercial purposes.

2. ABG Goods Declaration
Due to the fragile environment of the Galapagos Islands, there are many products that aren’t allowed into the islands.
When you go to the airport you have to take your luggage to the ABG control for it to be inspected.
The list of products allowed into the Galapagos is here: https://bioseguridadgalapagos.gob.ec/lista-de-productos/
After this you will receive the ABG inspection tags for your luggage.
Once you are on the plane you will either get a paper declaration form or you can do it online.
To avoid wasting paper, you can do it online when you are at the airport.
For this document you will write down:
- Personal information: passport, telephone number, email
- Flight Information: origin, destination, airline, flight number
And check the declaration oath:

Once you have done this you will get a QR code on your email.
You have to show this QR Code when you arrive at the airport in the Galapagos right after you pay the entrance fee.

Hoping this helps you have a faster arrival to the Galapagos and remember to respect the natural environment.
